I'm Tom Duff - founder of MasterTech Environmental of York, PA and MasterTech Franchise Systems. For the past 17 years, I've been helping people get honest answers about mold. In that time, I've completed more than 8,000 mold inspections in homes, businesses, and just about every type of building you can imagine.
Along the way, I've also served as an expert witness in mold-related court cases, where my inspections and reports were put under serious scrutiny. When I put my name on a report, you can be confident it's something I'll stand behind.
My background in home inspections gave me the foundation for this work. It taught me how homes are built, how they age, and how water sneaks into places it doesn't belong. Beyond running MasterTech Environmental of York, I also founded MasterTech Franchise Systems - a national network that sells MasterTech Environmental franchises to inspectors and entrepreneurs across the U.S. Every new franchise owner who comes into this industry goes through my training program.
I personally train the mold inspectors who are brand new to this field. That means I'm not just someone who does inspections - I'm the person who sets the standard for how inspections should be done. I built the curriculum, I've refined it over years of real-world experience, and I teach it to every inspector entering the MasterTech network.
